Sasha Volpov started playing with the Northern Ballet in 1996. He is guest principal cello at BBC Scottish, Scottish Opera, Opera North, Northern Sinfonia and the London Concert Orchestra. He has been broadcast on BBC Scottish and BBC Radio 3 with the Rostov String Quartet and Rachmaninov Trio. C.D. performances on Rostor S.Q. Rachmaninov Trio, Classic Trio, Rachmaninov Trio tours to Malta, Germany and the United States.irst prize in all Soviet Union String Quartet Competition. Born in Sverdlovsk, Russia. Studied at Sverdlovsk, Rostov-on-Don, Moscow. |

Jonathon Duke studied piano with John Bingham and Christine Croshaw at Trinity College of Music, London where he was awarded the Lilian Florence Smith prize for piano accompaniment. He specialises in chamber music and has performed with many distinguished soloists including clarinetists David Campbell, Howard Klug and Joanne Rozario, cellist Alexander Volpov and oboist John Williams. Recent performances have included Schumann's Piano Quintet in Eb with the Becker Quartet, Poulenc's Sextet and Mozart's Quintet for piano and wind with the Crowther Quintet. He took part in performances of John McCabe's Fauvel's Rondeau and Stravinsky's Soldier's Tale at 'Sounds New 2003' in Canterbury. He also recently gave a performance of Schubert's Fantasie F minor for piano duet at Lambeth Palace with pianist Anthony Sellors. |
