Talent development is the lifeblood of Decca Records, home to Abbey Road Studio, made famous by The Beatles. The label recently signed 24-year-old Ellis, a classical musician (and boxer), who sees piano as a, “universe of complex emotions”. From his humble beginnings on a council estate to studying at Leeds Conservatoire, his story of triumph, which was also profiled in a Sky Arts film, is nothing short of extraordinary.

Eliot Kenendy also came from humble beginnings, starting a band at school in Rotherham, before co-writing global hits for the Spice Girls, Take That,Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige and Bryan Adams, and is famed for his long-standing songwriting partnership with Gary Barlow.

He also co-wrote the Broadway musical, Finding Neverland with Barlow, composes film soundtracks, including Eddie the Eagle and the upcoming movie,Hot Flash, and is creative director at Steelworks Studios.

Join us for a medley of music and conversation. Ellis will perform a selection of pieces, interspersed with questions led by Eliot. There will be a 15 minute segment at the end for Q & A where audience members can pose their questions for real-world advice on getting a head start in the music industry.
