How to find the age of your piano


1. Locate the Serial Number on your Piano.

Serial numbers are placed in different locations on your piano depending on the manufacturer. Be aware that some pianos also display case or part numbers which should not be confused with the piano's serial number. The diagrams below show pssible serial number locations, marked with an "X".

Grand Pianos - Serial numbers are usually located either on the frame, on the soundboard, under the music desk.

Upright Pianos - Serial numbers are usually located either on the frame, on the soundboard, on the top rim of the piano cabinet.

NB: Some pianos do not have a serial number and so their age is more difficult to calculate.

2. Once you know the serial number, click on the Manufacturers name below to discover your piano's age:
